WHO’S in the Homeschooling News?

They’re in every home across America. They’re in your neighborhood right now. You can’t escape them because they’re just like you! Can you believe it? Every family has gotten a taste of Homeschooling. Everyone has walked a mile in your shoes. It’s unprecedented. Now all the public and private schooled families will finally understand you. They’ll hopefully give you a little more grace and be a little more welcoming to your children.

Homeschooling is not for the faint-hearted, but ’tis the season to instantly without warning become the thing that no one thought would be possible – to be like everyone

around you, a Homeschool Parent because everyone else is doing it; because there’s no other choice. All the households with children on your street are experiencing it. It’s all relatively the same thing because no one can go to a brick and mortar building for school at this time. They’re all empty.

You thought it would never happen – that glorious day when practically everyone homeschools. Some families already know what to do though; that’s you. You’re the expert and now’s the time to share your knowledge like Caleb Harris of Pflugerville did. He had the privilege of getting an article in the Austin American Statesman, “Daddy Days: Some tips for homeschooling during the coronavirus.” What are your recommendations?

The Christian Academy of Performing Arts teen musical auditions starts this week!

Despite the unfortunate news to Austin homeschoolers at the loss of our beloved choir teacher, Ms. Blair, who taught hundreds of homeschooled students since 1995, “the show must go on” as they say. Their program offers several concerts, a contest in the spring, and a summer musical – Come sing along!

 

 

The Called to Teach Homeschool Conventions have been postponed due to COVID-19. We’re waiting in expectation, THSC. I mean, who would miss getting to meet Dennis Prager in person? But don’t despair. The 2021 Texas Homeschool Convention is on the slate for July 8-10 in Round Rock, Texas; next summer.
